This latest photo story comes from this summer. I decided to embark on a photo story project that anyone could adapt and have a go at. The photos featured here were all taken in my garden from July til September and I only used my phone.
Agapanthus are wonderful flowers and in the summer you see plenty growing in towns and parks in Cornwall. My neighbour gave me an agapanthus not long after we moved in and I love watching it's life cycle.
The new leaves begin to form over the early spring. And then the magic happens.
Tall stalks with pods start growing. Slowly they burst open revealing several stems and buds. The steams grow longer and the flowers eventually. The flowers are usually blue or white in colour. It seems that the flowers don't last that long before they fade, die and small pods form. As winter approaches the leaves die back as the plant 'hibernates' until spring.
I hope you enjoy the photos below and that it will inspire you to have a go at something similar.
